A Royal Dinner Date

Well the past few weeks have certainly been jam packed with the athletics season well and truly into full swing. Competing on the national series circuit has meant trips to Perth and Sydney culminating in the Olympic Trials (not Paralympic) held in Melbourne, along with a few other meets in between. My results are progressing nicely and my coaches and I are really happy with where I am. The season ending national championships are now just 5 weeks away and I am excited to get a few more comps under my belt before then.
 Recovery at Scarborough Beach, Perth-
much nicer than an ice bath!

Off the track and I was on hand to help launch the official opening of the new Victorian Institute of Sport at Albert Park. A fantastic facility located by Lakeside Stadium meaning that I can move freely from training on the track to using the gym or recovery facilities within a minute! So very convenient!!!

With fashion week upon us I was also off to a winter wardrobe showing by Hanger Nation by Shelley Craft- a fantastic website and FREE iphone app showcasing Australia’s top designers and their latest collections. My favourite part of the app is the store locator which tells you exactly where you can get the new looks- highly dangerous if you ask me! It was a fun night held at The Olsen boutique hotel.

And the most exciting somebody-pinch-me-now moment of the year to date easily belongs to the Royal dinner date I had last week! I was extremely honoured to be invited along to dinner with Princess Charlene of Monaco who was in Australia to open the Grace Kelly Style Icon exhibit in Bendigo.

An intimate table of 24 in a stunning room at Melbourne Town Hall surrounded by chandeliers and of course a grand piano! A beautiful lady inside and out, the other guests were glorious, the food and wine divine. What an incredible evening. I feel so honoured to have received an invitation. Given it was dinner with Royalty unfortunately there were no photos allowed so I can’t share the beauty of the evening with you! It was everything you would imagine a Royal dinner to be!

A couple of big weeks of training coming up for me and I’m looking forward to working hard! There are lots of exciting times ahead! :)
